All-call for Middle Tennessee beauties

The second annual Miss Mid-South Barbecue Festival pageant organizers are putting out a final call for contestants to get their pageant applications in no later than 9 p.m. Thursday.

The pageant is open to all young girls ages 24 months-21 years old, who reside in any Middle Tennessee county.

Contestants will be competing in seven age-specific categories: Toddler Miss, 24-35 month-olds; Little Miss, 3-4 yeas-olds; Petite Miss, 5-6 year-olds; Young Miss, 7-9 year-olds; Pre-teen Miss, 10-12 year-olds; Junior Miss, 13-15 year-olds; and Miss Mid-South Barbecue Festival, 16-21 year-olds.

The winner of the Miss Mid-South Barbecue Festival will be awarded a $500 scholarship.

Dress requirements for the Toddler Miss through Young Miss contestants are Sunday best, and party dresses for Pre-teen Miss. Junior Miss contestants may wear formals or semi-formals, and Miss contestants are required to wear formals.

The pageant begins with the Toddler Miss category at 6 p.m. Saturday at the Mt. Pleasant Middle School’s Kids on Stage Theater.

Winners from the Young Miss to the Miss categories will be asked to participate in Mt. Pleasant’s Mid-South Barbecue Festival to be held Oct. 16-17 in the downtown area around the square. Pageant organizers said they would like for the younger winners to come and be introduced.

Also, on pageant night Saturday, a People’s Choice contest will be held at a $1 per vote for family and friends to pick their favorite contestant from each category. The people’s choice winners will receive crowns, and proceeds from this portion of the pageant will go to Family 2 Family, a Mt. Pleasant outreach program which help struggling families with utility bills and food, filled backpacks for the beginning of school, and more.Read more at:graduation dresses uk | celebrity inspired dresses
